Assumes an ideal, tightly wound coil with no gaps. Excludes core and packaging mass, winding gaps and thickness tolerances.

How to use

Enter the coil’s outside and inside diameters, sheet width and thickness in mm, and density in kg/m³. The inside diameter must be smaller than the outside diameter.

Example calculation

Outside diameter 1000 mm, inside diameter 500 mm, width 1000 mm and thickness 2 mm give approximately 294.52 m of sheet and 4653.48 kg at 7900 kg/m³.

Calculation method

L = π(D² − d²) / (4t) × 10⁻³ m; m = π(D² − d²)wρ / 4 × 10⁻⁹ kg (D, d, t, w: mm; ρ: kg/m³)

Calculation limits
