How to use
Enter tool diameter in mm, cutting speed in m/min, an integer cutting-edge count and feed per tooth in mm. Results are spindle speed in rpm and feed rate in mm/min.
Example calculation
A 10 mm diameter, 100 m/min cutting speed, 4 cutting edges and 0.05 mm/tooth give approximately 3183.10 rpm and 636.62 mm/min feed.
Calculation method
n = 1000vᶜ / (πD); vᶠ = nfᶻz (D: mm; vᶜ: m/min; fᶻ: mm; n: min⁻¹; vᶠ: mm/min)
Calculation limits
Converts the cutting parameters you provide; it does not recommend settings for a material or machine. Use the tool manufacturer’s data, workholding conditions and machine limits.
