How to use
Add different shapes, dimensions and grades as separate rows. The listed materials are summed to give their combined weight.
- Enter the first material’s shape, density and dimensions of one piece in mm.
- Enter a positive whole piece count and select Add to list. Change the fields for the next material and add again.
- Check each row’s unit and total weight. Removing a row updates the total; Clear list removes all rows.
Example calculation
Two 1000 × 2000 × 2 mm sheets at 7900 kg/m³: 63.2 kg. Three 50 × 1000 × 5 mm flat bars at 8000 kg/m³: 6 kg. Combined total: 69.2 kg.
Calculation method
For each row: unit weight = volume × density; row weight = unit weight × quantity. The list total is the sum of all row weights.
Calculation limits
The calculation uses ideal geometry and does not account for corner radii, manufacturing tolerances or weld seams. Use the supplier’s actual weight per piece for final purchasing calculations.
