Cylinders with two equal heads only. Exceeding the entered dimension limit produces a warning, not a resized design. No pressure or structural design.

How to use

For a cylindrical tank, choose the heads, target litres and fixed inside diameter or straight length. Optionally set a limit on the other dimension.

Example calculation

1000 L, D = 1000 mm, flat ends: L ≈ 1273.24 mm.

Calculation method

V = π(D/2)²[L + 4a/3] D = const ⇒ L = V/[π(D/2)²] − 4a/3 L = const ⇒ π(D/2)²[L + 4a(D)/3] = V L_total = L + 2a D, L, a: m; V: m³; 1 m³ = 1000 L

Calculation limits

Cylinders with two equal heads only. Exceeding the entered dimension limit produces a warning, not a resized design. No pressure or structural design.
