How to use
Choose the shape and enter inside dimensions in mm. L is the straight body only, excluding heads and cone; on vertical tanks L is its straight height.
Example calculation
D = 1000 mm, L = 2000 mm, flat ends: 1570.80 L.
Calculation method
V_cyl = πr²L; V₂ = 4πr²a/3; a = 0, D/4, D/2 V_cone = πr²C/3; V_rect = W × H × L D, L, W, H, C, a, r: m; V: m³; 1 m³ = 1000 L
Calculation limits
Closed ideal tank with two equal flat, exact 2:1 ellipsoidal (D/4) or hemispherical (D/2) heads. Cone-bottom tanks have a flat top. Excludes torispherical, unequal or tilted tanks, nozzles and internals.
